I had found this coin in my pocket change. Any information would be greatly appreciated. It is a 1980 Denver mint with fairly obvious wood grain. Is this worth anything to collectors? If so, how much? Thanks in advance! If anyone needs a higher quality photo, or a picture of the reverse, just let me know.
You'd have to connect with the "right" buyer, meaning someone who really wants it, but even then the price they'd be willing to pay would be very, very modest at best. Such coins can be neat to find and collect, but there simply isn't the demand to support any sort of meaningful premiums.
Nice penny ..it's fascinating how some end up like this while literally hundreds of million s don't. I found this one in a recent wheat roll purchase
I see the improper mix on the 41, but is the 39 the same or simply the result of partly removed crud (my eyes aren't what they used to be...)?
Not sure to be honest? I thought corrosion because it is a raised texture but it's in a very definable pattern. It's not just randomly splashed as it covers the whole surface on both sides. Definefly different so figured I'd show it!
