    Hey all,

I'm looking for input on a wooden storage / display case to store a collection of 25 graded coins in. All NGC slabs. My concerns are long term environmental control and something that keeps the slabs in place during movement.

Any recommendations? I really would like a polished wooden box, at least 24, no more than 25 slab holder (If I can get a hold of a D. Carr 1964 graded Peace Dollar!)

    Input and creative thoughts welcome.

    Thanks!

For wood, the concern will always be outgassing and toning of the coins, (whether in slabs or not). The only decent wood I have ever heard of is real mahogany, (the kind from Africa). You could have a woodworker custom make one from this wood if you really wanted such a display case. Even with real mahogany, I would open it up and let is outgas for 6 months or so before I would seal it up with my coins.

Wood would not be my choice for long term storage at all.

So then the best idea is just to get an Intercept style box I suppose.
