    If you don't mind me answering. The letter T is missing due to Grease or debris blocking that area of the Die that struck the Cent.

    Missing letters, numbers and even parts of devices are very common as the result of a grease-filled die. It seems that this anomaly is most prevalent on Lincoln cents. Don't ask me why.

    Sheer volume of mintage, I think. If the percentage of affected strikes is the same as other issues, that's a bazillion Lincoln greasers. :)
