Won the 1921-D Walking Liberty.. Deeper Analysis

Cave Troll actually just gave me what i see as a very unfair infraction so I don't think I'll be asking him anytime soon.

He said I insulted a member.

I didn't. I stated an example and then followed with an insult that was meant for the example. It was not to insult anyone. I even prefaced it.

I'm spending an awful lot of time on this thread that could better be spent learning more about numismatics. Anyone else? Life is way too short to be having these ' ' contests.

Listen I appreciate it but you don't have to read this thread if you don't want.

 

This is absolutely true...he has said things about my coins in the past that I didn't want to hear, and he is almost always correct (not always, he makes mistakes like anyone else). I have never once taken it personally. I have learned to trust his opinion and experience because he is very knowledgeable with coins in general and doesn't sugar coat things.

 

Well maybe one day when I know Doug better I will take it better. Right now, with the limited rapport we have, I didn't take it kindly.

 

lol, I still own some of those dogs. I leaned more from Doug's dead-on evaluation of some of my purchases than maybe any one other person outside of my current place of employment.

I never said I'm not learning from Doug either, it's just that after you make a $350 purchase you don't want to hear people low rate it.

By the way, tmoneyeagle, I'd like to make it clear, I never meant to insult you a few posts ago. Cave Troll took it upon himself to hand me what I deem a very unfair infraction over it, but let me clear that up, I never meant to insult you and if you felt insulted, I sincerely apologize for I never meant for it to be like that. It was just an example in a point I was making about the guise some people use to hide under when making insults.

 

So I was using some technique to hide an insult, is that what you are saying? I called you a loose fingered newbie, because the fact of the matter was you were acting like one. That wasn't an insult, and yet you took it upon yourself to re-write what I said, and giving an example of something more insulting that looked like it was towards me, which is wasn't and I understand that. Apology accepted for that.
And the infraction wasn't unfair at all, I too am a moderator at another site, and to be honest, I would have closed/deleted this thread, had a private talk with you, and probably would have given you an infraction as well.
Now that you seem to have calmed down, re-read this whole entire thread, and look at how ridiculous some of the stuff said on here is. I only hope you can learn from this experience, and apologize to all you may have insulted in an appropriate way.

Not everyone here is low rating your coin. They are just grading it based on what they interpret the standards to be... many are calling it G-6, others saying VG-8 and a few say it may have a shot at VG-10. The only problem that is becomming clear to me is the seller GSC overrating the coin as a Fine. Perhaps all of the Coin Talk folks are wrong that GSC is correct though (he's the only one to see the coin in hand so far), but I personally wouldn't be the farm on it.

 

Hmm, I do remember the loose fingered newbie. That actually was an insult but I'm sure the mod won't recognize that. Anyway, yeah, I am moving on.

 

I wasn't ragging on them at all. I just wanted to know what all the fuss about them was because I wasn't really crazy about how they looked. However, I don't doubt that people like them and if they do, great. I just wanted to know what all the hype was about. That was all.. Nothing more nothing less.

 

Okay, then why don't you move on by issuing an apology in private to the people you have offended? That would clear up some things up,

If I were to get an infraction for calling you a loose fingered newbie, I wouldn't care, my main motive isn't to insult, my motive is to help you understand something, and I still don't think you are understanding it.
You asked for help, which you got, but the help wasn't the help you actually wanted, all you wanted to hear was positive things about that coin of yours. So some members give you some tough love and you get defensive and call everything a personal attack basically. So after all this your feelings have been hurt, and you wind up saying some wrong things, which earned you an infraction. You complain about the infraction talking about how unfair it was, and then you apologize to ONLY ME, and the only reason you did so was because you got the infraction.

All of this chaos could have been simply avoided by taking the advice that was given to you, you spun this out of control, and if anything should be learned today is that you brought this upon yourself, and you need to chill for a bit until you learn some things that have been stated continuously on this thread.

I did not apologize because of the infraction I did so because Cave Troll believed I insulted you and that was not what I did but, I said sorry anyway just so Cave Troll knows it was not personal insulting to you.

You're the only person I apologized to because I can see how my comments earlier could get misconstrued. To the others, I was just defending myself and my new coin.

I don't want to talk about this part anymore, so I won't be responding to any posts anymore that mention this. I PM'd Cave Troll and Doug and that's that. No more.

 

BnB all I can say is wow. Let me guess you read your copy of " How to win friends, and influence people " nightly with all the powerful thoughts highlighted,and notes in the margins.

Sorry I did not get my script either, with all the posts seems none of us did. If you want this to be the "perfect BnB world" I would suggest scripts or tele prompters. On the other hand if you would like to join the rest of us in the real world. Read and study the books more, ask questions pertaining to what the book said. Do not spend 350 dollars on a coin you can not grade.

If you want platitudes on all that you accomplish join the Boy Scouts, if this is really about learning for you, put the subject you wish to question, in the search bar here and you will find quite a few on that subject.

Perhaps next time you should ask for a deep analysis before purchasing the coin. That way, if people low rate it...then you aren't committed to buying it.
