    But that mentality is exactly why coins today are so boring. Now that we have ex-presidents on all circulating coins (except for one, which people rarely use), it seems like we'll never have beautiful coins again. Besides, why not change things up?

    What are you suggesting? Should we be like the rest of the world and have Batman or Superman on our coins? The coin is supposed to show the strengths of our nation. I think the ex-presidents are fine. We have the quarters with different backs now. I really don't think putting a woman on the $10 bill is one of the brightest ideas the government came up with. Not because I don't want to see women on the bills, they're doing it for all of the WRONG reasons. Miss Liberty would be an excellent choice, it stands for our country's freedom and perseverance, and many other things that would appeal to both men and women. These iconic figures that we have on our money now, at least in my opinion, will never be outdated.

    Just about every other country I have collected coins and notes from, choose only to put their leader on them, or at the very least a previous leader.

    Also, to counter those saying we are against having women on currency, a bunch of countries around the world actually puts women on their notes, but for valid reasons.

    Why are the only options either ex-presidents or a symbol that just happens to take the form of a woman, but is not a real woman? If we take real people from our country's history and honor them by putting them on our money, why should it only be men who get that honor?

    I'm all for honoring one of the many great women in our country's history in such a way. If that's a "WRONG" reason, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

    I think they should leave the money the way it is now. No messing with any of the bills.

    I feel at this moment and time the currency should be left the same way it is. Any changes now are only to further someone's political or personal goal. Something that impacts our nation is how we are seen around the world through our currency. It's not something lightly we should take.

    Right now the government wants a woman on one of the bills. They don't know who they would put on the bill. Whether it'll be a woman from the colonial times or a woman in the guidelines of putting on our currency. But they want a woman. I can name a few that I would think about. We have Martha Washington, Betsy Ross, Abigail Adams, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Blackwell, Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Keller, and the list can go on. These are my top picks and I know everyone else can pick somebody different. All are worthy to be on our currency.

    I am for banning the use of portraits of any people, living or dead, from our currency, and mandating that only allegorical representations of Lady Liberty be used forevermore. I do not think a REPUBLIC should ape the monetary habits of monarchs, imperial empires, and other tyrannies that have always sought to glorify their rulers by putting their odious portraits on the circulating coin of the realm. If George Washington were alive I think he would second my motion on this. I think he would have found it abhorrent that his own portrait was on the quarter and the dollar-bill. America is not about crying "Hail Ceasar!" to whatever politician or political activist who is currently in vogue - it is about guaranteeing every citizen life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Enough with the dead presidents worship and to Hades with the current urge to put Politically Correct personages in their place. Give us LIBERTY or give us death!

    Here is the statement from Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew about the new $10:

    Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew decided that the new $10 note should feature a woman who was a champion for our inclusive democracy. The note is scheduled to be introduced in 2020, in time to mark the centennial of the passage of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

    I'm seriously betting that they will choose someone who was important in the fight to get the vote for women.

    Our currency is not to invoke "God worship" to any of these figures. They are what the US stood for. Their accomplishments, their faults, they were all important in forming our nation. I don't see any "hail Ceasar" in any of them. All I see is hail the republic.

    I would suggest Abigail Adams. Or even better Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

    Go to Vegas and bet your house, car, boat, furniture, and pets that it's going to be Eleanor Roosevelt.

    Don't bet your coins though. :D

    Eleanor Roosevelt had some great quotes;

    "You wouldn't worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.”
