Story made the front page of USA Today 2/9/05.

Story states that many believe the additional leaves were intentional due to the accurate placement and design of these "variations". Not since 1995 with DDO Lincoln has there been such an uproar in the coin community...except you can see these leaves with a naked eye.

Well Speedy lemme put it this way. I haven't checked my pocket change for coins since I was about 9. But for the past month or so I have been having this irresistable urge to look for quarters :D

Feb. 9, 05 Denver channel 9 TV station at 6:00 P.M had some idiot on that was reporting on the "extra" leaf that was discovered on the Wisconsin quarter. He came up with some phony number of coins that Denver mint was supposed to have minted this way and stated that they were being sold for $2,000. If you could even find one to buy. His words...It's better than the lottery! And he ran a coin store in Denver and should have known better.

    Wis. quarter

Has anyone noticed how this has affected the two roll mint quarter sets? They are going from $150.00 to $220.00 per set in the sealed box. Cost basis $32.00 / set.

David while looking for another leaf I found a quarter that appears to have an 2 udside down Ds. Is this a damaged quarter or worth anything?

Looking for the ear of corn. I found a wisconsin quarter that appears to have two small D's between the cow and corn. Does any know if this is a damaged coin or perhaps worth anything?

Push "Post Reply" and near the bottom of the page you will see "attach files" click on that and then find the file on your computer...then click "add this file" and wait...it will come up with either the name of the photo below where you search your computer or it will come up and say the photo is too big...if it is too big you need to make is smaller...if it uploads, click done and you will come back to your posting page...then press "submit Reply...you will not see the photo till after it's posted.

    See if that works...

was the Wisconsin Quarter variety found on both Denver and Philidelphia mints or was it just Denver that it was found on.

    quarter

Speedy not sure but I'm going to try. I got another reply and they said after it was minted it got dinged. This is more than likely true but it still is fun trying to find out. I enlarged it but not sure if it save enlarged. But here we go.
    Thanks Bonnie

    Wisconsin quarter

Got a reply that said it was bag marks after the coin is made then something accidently strikes it. But if it was not intentionally there and an accident that put it there? It's got to be rare, right?
Got it as big as I know how. Guess what I need is a magnifing glass.
    Thanks Speedy

Well no, that doesn't mean it's rare...
The photo is still small but that's alright...
Did you flip the photo on the computer??
The letters all read backward on the photo...
It's not worth more than face value in mine opinion...the marks are sometimes called bag marks and are on most every coin..

Ahhhh....thanks GD--I didn't see how the letters could be backwards...that would be rare!
