Gotta love the twists these threads take. I noticed the Highland Coin Grading slab. Just so happens I grew up in a town called Highland and at one point in my life smoked something that grows naturally. I gotta have that coin! But first some munchies.
Dan,I'm glad that you are doing a blog on those scumburger alphabet 'TPGs'.Perhaps, you could post a link to the blog here some time. Aidan.
And for their response: The bust of Ike is dulled and so it the Eagle landing on the moon as well as the moon itself. The background behind the bust is ultra shiney and so is the background behind the eagle. The 20th anniversary eagle set (three coins) were examples of the three processes used by the SF mint. Plain with the whole coin being the same texture and color, matt finish looks like a haze across the entire coin and the reverse proof which was mat finish against an ultra high gloss background. I hope that answers your question. *** ***** I really think this guy believes that they really did reverse proofs on Ikes.....
