There is nothing you can do to help that coin - nothing. As I said it is beyond help. The coin is already corroded beneath the copper plating.
Want to try something educational? Take a common date nickel (because it’s the only modern mono-metal piece left) and tumble it for a few days in a rock tumbler. Use a basement room so the noise won’t bother you. The result is a real nice education.
Probably not, but if you've an electric stove, she could quickly become something more interesting.....

Wood block. Drive firmly into the grain one Lincoln cent for conserving. I’m pretty sure you can pick up a nice piece of pine or something soft for free. Find a 12 to 16 oz. rock, put coin on edge in crack and drive in firmly. ONLY DO THIS WITH JUNK COINS OF NO VALUE. To include most Zincoln cents You now have a wood slabbed CUSTOM coin. Best of all the coin is worth more than the slab! THAT NEVER HAPPENS WITH MODERN CENTS ANYMORE!
