Will it hurt the price of platinum?

Some motor vehicle manufacturers have substituted palladium for the more expensive platinum in catalytic converters. Until recently, only platinum could be used in diesel catalytic converters; however, new technologies allow as much as 25% palladium to be used.

I am not sure that it will hurt the price of platinum. Would it make it go up more since it is being used more?

The demand should cause Palladium prices to rise, and the lower demand should cause Platinum to drop maybe just a little.

Platinum is sure to drop a little, unless it can be used a lot in some other area.
