Pretty big assumption there. Because someone questioned the representation of a specific race, it appears that you're assuming their hatred for another.
It is definitely a big assumption but what is meant by "race"? What are all humans a part of? The human race. Essentially, there is just one race. The anthropologically accepted term to refer to groups of one color from another is "ethnicity".
Ah, back in the early '60s, when I was a wee lad in the Cub Scouts we would have loved to have a few of those Brownies in our pack. Never made it to the Boy Scouts, to busy chasing ex-Brownies.
The Venturing Crew, formerly Explorer Post, I was a member of was "General Interest". It was basically a social group for dating.
@Nathan401 swimming was my problem, too. Couldn't even make First Class because of that. Finally learned how during university days. Still don't enjoy it (would rather read a book by side of the pool). Steve
I don't care what races are on coins, it just seemed to me that one little white boy would have been acceptable. Afterall the coin is a commemorative of the entire history.
To rickmp. You obviously didn't pay attention to the question, and have taken it upon yourself to judge me a RACIST. Your bigotry is really showing. I didnot say any ethnic groups didnot belong on the coins but if we are to be the inclusive nation you would think we should be what harm would it be to include a Caucasian ?FYI, I collect all comems not just white folks. BTY, when home on leave I marched with my brothers. EDITED: Language, please read the rules, acronyms are not excused.
When you start a topic that dances around a hot-button issue, you should be prepared for this sort of thing.
WOW, when I was 16 I was working to help my family. So that makes you better than me, and your right to assume you know my heart? You should be ashamed.
Thank you for answering my original question. I was just curious as to who has actual input on making the decisions, not starting bigoted folks on a rant. Thanks again Sgtmac
Hey, Old Vet. This is a place to discuss coins. What do you collect? Why don't you post some pictures of your coins. We'd love to see them.
As soon as I can get pics I would be happy to share. As for what I collect, commemorative coins are my favs, but you can't beat the beauty of the old coins. I have a full set of peace dlrs, all the morgans I can afford. Basically I have a very mixed bag, both gold and silver plus proof and mint sets. Sorry I am starting to run on, didn't mean to bore you. Thanks for your kindness. Sgtmac
How come you didn't post coins that other men gave you? Surely you have guy friends. Where's the equality? (I kid, I kid).
Nope. With all due respect, your original post asked nothing of the sort. You just wanted to know who else agreed with you that Caucasian males should be represented on the examples you listed and shared your feelings that this was unfair. So please don't claim that your original question was to find out who was responsible for this decision.
