    My guess would be to hide the surfaces with the AT. Possible the person who submitted it, purchased it that way raw, and didn't notice the surface and thought the toning original.

    Sending it in for grading may have hurt it's ability to sell on ebay. Even novices seem to know "details" is not a good term when it comes to grading coins. On the other hand, it is authenticated.
