    Hi all!

I was hoping to win some group lots in the recent Demos auction. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. However, I saw this lot went for a very large amount of money (500EUR) compared to the other lots. Is there a rarity in there that I missed?

    Thanks!

My knowledge on Byzantine coins is next to nothing so even if there is a rarity there I wouldn't recognize it.
But if you look at the bidding log, it was a war between 2 bidders with autoincrement on both sides.

I collect Byzantine coins and sure don't see why that lot went for anything like 500 euros. Row 1, coin 2 and row 4, coin 3 are a bit scarcer, but not enough, in my opinion, to make it worth much more than 16 low-quality Byzantine coins.
