It means you cannot post links to active auctions, it means you cannot post auction numbers, it means you cannot post your ebay name/handle in conjunction with mentioning an auction you have up, it means you cannot say something like - "hey I have an auction going over on ebay ........" - and then use any other statement or comment that may help direct people to that auction. It means you're not allowed to do it period.</p><p><br /></p><p>And NOS, there is zero tolerance on this policy for a reason. That reason is exactly to avoid what you are proposing. Because if there was any tolerance people would using every way they could think of to get around the rule. And the first time a post was edited they would be screaming - "hey ! I did that because ......" trying to rationalize or justify their actions. It is <u>supposed</u> to grab you and get your immediate attention. It is supposed to point out, not only to the offender, but to everybody else as well, that - HEY ! Somebody broke the rules ! In that way it is not only used as a notifier it is also used as reminder - to everyone that we have rules and that some things are not allowed.</p><p><br /></p><p>That said, it is a pretty rare occasion that anyone ever gets punished or given an infraction when a post of theirs is edited. In other words, the post is edited and that is the end of it. THAT is where your tolerance comes in NOS. That is where and how the leeway is given. We fully realize that people are human, and sometimes they just make honest mistakes, sometimes they are not even aware that they broke any rule. </p><p><br /></p><p>And even in those cases where it is obvious that the offender broke the rule on purpose, knowing full well that it was against the rules to do what they did, they still don't get an infraction for doing so in the majority of cases.
