And they don&#039;t have the coin in hand to examine so unless the person complaining can explain exactly why it is a fake and give some proof, they will probably let the auction run. (To give them their due they have been much more responsive lately about pulling questionable auctions than they used to be.) So this leaves the US citizen who buys a marked replica and receives an unmarked one. OK he HAS committed a violation of the HPA by importing an unmarked copy.
