Why don't TPGs state their grade opinion on coins that they won't cross?

[QUOTE="calcol, post: 2786966, member: 77639"]One annoying thing about submitting coins for crossover grading is that if the coin does not cross, you're not told what grade they think it is. I can see several reasons why they do this. 1. You may be more likely to submit it again for crossing at the same or lower grade. 2. They don't want their statement of grade to become a second grade opinion on a coin still in the other company's holder. For example, if you submitted a NGC MS64 to PCGS and you have a document from them that states they grade it MS63+, then in future sales, the coin might be advertised as PCGS MS63+ / NGC MS64.

I can see their point. Arggh! You've graded it, so tell me the grade!! And it's irritating to play the resubmission game.
