I hear you Joe. eBay doesn't seem to care to send out email reminders to both parties that the duty of leaving feedback is in order after a transaction. I think this would help. eBid does remind you to leave feedback for one another which is a good thing for a starting company with lots of new members to get used to their site features. I can only guess that no response in feedback from a Buyer is a careless and/or irresponsible or even infrequent eBay Buyer, who also does not have Seller experience. I've considered that perhaps they felt 'neutral' upon receipt of their item and declined leaving any feedback. Perhaps they are Buyers who don't subscribe to the Feedback system knowing all the past problems between Buyers and Sellers, false Feedback profiles, know how eBay manages feedback issues, etc. I sort of look at it like no news is good news rather than getting a really week feedback message like "Good item" or merely "A+" That hardly says anything and is almost as good as having no comment. Perhaps eBay's Feedback system needs to show that the Buyer hasn't yet left feedback, but the item number of a successful sale should be visibly shown and indicate that the Seller left feedback. Anyone reading a Seller's feedback profile can filter comments you left for others as a Seller (that is left by you for your Buyers), so the truly investigative or inquisitive, can reverse look up your past successful sales and that you follow through with feedback. If you are sending Insured items and worried the item didn't make it are you also sending with a tracking number? Whether by Delivery Confirmation, Signature required, Registered? All of those should provide you with an online report, visual signature, or receipt upon delivery of the parcel. There is also the ability to mark your item(s) shipped in the drop down menu on the sold items list. That sends out a message to the Buyer that the Seller marked the item shipped on a specified date. That reminder would be the prefect place for eBay to include a feedback reminder to the Buyer. In your message to the Buyer you can also include your own reminders indicating if and when/how you leave feedback. This impresses many Buyers especially if there's a problem later as I believe it can lessen retaliatory feedback issues from misunderstanding or disgruntled Buyers. If you haven't registered or used eBid, you might consider getting an account going with them. They are very similar to eBay but really seem to care about feedback at this time.
