Why Do You Collect Ancients?

What was business and commerce like in Rome? How did the anonymous Roman engineers build the Colosseum? The aqueducts? The Via Appia?</p><p><br /></p><p>Ancient coins tie all these areas together. In addition, they're so much more varied and diverse than modern coins that I don't really understand how a collector can sustain an interest in modern coins other than for investment and speculation reasons.
