I have been a lifelong collector of U.S. coins and U.S. paper money. Why? - because I'm an American and that's what I really started with as have so many others. I never referred to World coin collectors as the "darkside" nor do I refer to these coins as "foreign". After all if you live outside the U.S. a U.S. coin is a "world" or "foreign" coin. I just take it as a gentle joke and see no reason why it should be taken any other way. Bottom line is we are all collectors and have different tastes. I buy the occasional World coin or note because I like it. No other reason. I see more now than I used to and if a coin "strikes" me and the price is right I buy it. Very simple. I've seen the same term used by stamp collectors and by us paper money collectors on occasion. Ooooh you're a coin collector and bought some paper. Welcome to the darkside! LOL If anyone finds that offensive they need to chill. Stepping out of your normal boundries seems to be darkside. I do it more frequently as time goes on. Take it as it is. A bit of good humored chiding and a welcome at the same time.
