Can you imagine. This camera was introduced 50 years ago and retailed for $165! My FIL carried this everywhere. I now have it along with the original leather case and all the accessories. I might find some film and try it out. I still have my old Polaroid Big Shot camera somewhere along with my Instamatic 20. Used it to take photos on our honeymoon 41 years ago. Paid over $300 for my first digital, a Toshiba 2.2mp. Took tons of photos with my Minolta 35mm. Shot over 20 rolls in Hawaii in 1998. Best 35mm camera I ever owned, now obsolete due to the digital age. http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Polaroid_Land_Model_100 Film? http://filmphotographyproject.com/store/polaroid-film-fuji-instant-color-fp-100-c-boxed
OK, I used the jpeg optimizer (pretty effective) and got the file size down to 19KB! But I still get the same error message. Yes, it is a jpeg file (ends in .jpg) and yes, I am using the Upload-a-file button at the bottom of the page. I've uploaded lots of pictures and never had this problem before.
Here's one I just uploaded using the upload button. At first I did it without typing a reply and got the error message. Then I typed this and... bingo. You MUST type at least one letter in your message, and you have the option of attaching a clickable thumbnail or full size image. And this is coming from an old guy who still marvels at how a Polaroid camera works.
Only thing I can think of is that there is something about this specific file that is causing you to get the error message. I just sent you a PM with my email address, email your original file to me and I'll take a look and see if I can figure out what's going on.
Well, I was able to upload the file above just by clicking the "upload a file" tab without posting any text. So my statement about the need to type something is incorrect.
OK, I've cleared my cache and history files, powered down for a minute, for half an hour, but nothing helps. I still can't upload any file to Cointalk. Note the error message looks different I've never gotten this error before, and it's certainly not Windows standard format. I googled this error, and it seems to be server-related. See link http://backcountrypost.com/forum/threads/anyone-having-problems-uploading.579/ In that thread the systems people made a change to the server that fixed the problem. Did the cointalk server get upgraded recently? I am using Firefox 25.0.1. This error evidently does not affect all users, might be specific to Firefox.
Possible help for your systems guy: this link discusses this specific problem (error.png shows the exact error message) and offers a solution: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/error-posting-message.31027/#post-355054
