He could've taken off that pirate hat and stepped out onto the street in the late 1960s or early 1970s and looked completely normal with that beard and hair.
Well some of us looked a little wild in those days.......more so 1967- 74. Remember that 1969 was the summer of Love . ...woodstock.....
Yeah, I was 14 and not a war protestor, so it was just a summer, period. 1969 was remarkable for one thing - the Apollo program, nothing else for a 14-year-old.
If I had to pick I would choose Kelly Johnson, Greatest Aeronautical Engineer to ever live. He helped advance military technology over his entire life. He formed Lockheed Martin's Advanced Development Program which deveoped the most famous military aircraft's to ever exist and breaking what technology could achieve. Some of the famous aircraft's he designed SR-71 P-38 Lightning U-2 Spy Plane(Which still fly's today after 50 years!) Have Blue(Concept Aircraft for the F-117 NightHawk) F-117 NightHawk
That is indeed a pretty cool sketch but I'm not so sure how it would've looked in the final, metallic, three-dimensional, struck version.
Thanks for the participation everyone, some great names put forth. As well as a few (4 to be exact) that I was unaware of and have written down to further research. I have randomly drawn from the pool of posters and the winner is.... @Paddy54 , Congrats! PM me when you get this.
Wow he lived quite the life, eh. Distinguished service in two major wars as well as serving under three presidents! He was also a fellow Pennsylvanian like yourself, though I can't quite pronounce the town of his birth
Alexander Haig is probably best known for his claim he was in charge of the country when President Reagan was shot and in surgery and the VP (I believe George Bush) was out of the country on diplomatic business. Actually, he was fifth or sixth in line of being the Commander in Chief. His claim was quickly refuted.
