Still looking for 2023 . A few cents and 2 of the quarters. I'll let you know next year for 2024 coinage.
Much of this has to do with the size of the city you live in. The banks order coins based on the demand. Business accounts require a lot of coins to make change for customers. I have received 2024 cents and quarter in my area.
I have not seen one Jovita Idar quarter which came out in August 2023. They are releasing another quarter today Patsy Takemoto Mink.
What I do is use cash for everything. The only time I use the card for a purchases is online and gasoline. And only gasoline because now most stations want you to prepay and I never know exactly how much I'm going to need.
I have questions on this 2024 ??? The abraded area of the jacket bottom....what looks to be a repunched set of VDB ....then to the east down the rim other characters.? The area has been heavily filed.
Unfortunately, as I fast forward to today, I still ain't seen a single one in circulation. Last year it was in April when I saw them. Come on, US Mint. It's May. Edit: I didn't realize this was my own thread until I went to the first page. LOL, I am such a fool sometimes!
That may be a grease error. Some of them can be really valuable, but this could be an actual special error, like the 1922 no D penny. My friend has told me that there's some without the VDB at all, and it's kinda funny how the Mint can stop errors in one place just to make them in another. As collectors, though, we love finding odd ones like this. Here's my advice, Paddy: you could take it to some coin shops to see if they know about the error and go from there. Many shops know a lot about the subject and want to help you in any way they can.

Many shops know a lot about the subject and want to help you in any way they can LoL.... ROFLMAO ! Speechless.... yet after being published many times over on error and variety coins. And to think for 60 years.... all I needed to do is visit my local coin shop.....wow...why didn't I think about that in 64?
With the price they are getting lately for minor die varieties, dealers I know turn them away, because they sit in their inventory. I have never known a dealer to say, did you check that for a variety, I want to pay more.
Most people want errors as well variety specimens however do not or will not pay for them...! Thus most dealers don't bother unless its a major variety. However be careful of terminology as a minor variety isnt what most think it is... A minor variety is one that magnification is needed to determine...a major is one seen with the naked eye. But true unless noted in the grey sheet....99% of dealers could care less....about any die marriage.
Got a 2024 quarter in change yesterday. It's only the second one I've seen (Celia Cruz is the other). Also got a 2023 Jovita Idar in the same exchange - didn't have that one either.
And here it is 2025... and I'm just now seeing a bunch of 2024-D pennies showing up lol. I do have P and D Ida B. Wells quarters but I bought them off of someone on eBay. Not seen anything 2025 in actual circulation yet. My dad's asking me when paper money with Scott Bessent's signature will come out... maybe in another year or two. Series 2021 only had $1, $5, $10, and $100 bills in it so they might need a new series for $20 and $50 soon. Maybe even $2s if they feel a need to make more.
