I have a reminder in my account from the mint. If I can get in when available, I will buy 2 sets.

Haha, I don't know what that stands for either, but I THINK I know what he is talking about. The silver set with the proof silver eagle that was a rare one this year.

On the fence about it as well.

It should be interesting as the only other source of the S-mint SAE is the congratulations set which sold out almost instantaneously.

If you want that eagle, you want this set.

The mint had to find some kind of gimmick since the 2016 LEPS are still available. I think a 2017 silver proof set and 2017 proof ASE for ~$40 less is in my future.

Only one problem with your plan. The silver eagle from the LESPS is an S-mint coin, the regular proof SAE is a W-mint coin.

So they're keeping it at 50k and not raising the price? This is gonna be a very fast sellout. Guaranteed.

Nothing wrong with my plan. I don't really collect ASE's. Occasionally I will buy one. I bought a proof and burnished coin last year. This year I have purchased bullion ASE for my big silver coin fix. Most likely I will just buy the silver proof set like I do every year. Which I have a coupon for free shipping on the silver proof set.

For those that collect ASE coins then yes my plan is not for you. I am one less buyer to compete for a set. I do hope the folks that collect them are able to make a purchase. The LESPS do seem to hold their value over the years.

Probably not. I got the ASE proof. Can't say those others interest me much.

They are limiting to 2 per household per the Mint web site.

That'll really irritate HSN, won't it?

Won't make a difference to them or those types of buyers. They have plenty of employees who can order as well or will just get them somewhere else. Where it will make a difference is that their price will be higher if they have to use middlemen and pay them a profit in the process of getting what they want
