Do like to watch the coin vault but not to quote them . The big guy said that some errors have been found on some of the presidential coins. Supposedly there is a zero or an o just before the in on "in god we trust". Please do not hate me I am just passing it on. Also said it will be late march or first of April before the pres. proof set would be available because of pre sale problems. Again please do not hate me. lol

what i find is remarkable, is that the true collector value of the Washington dollars may be because of mint errors. I think even the mint has out done themselves this time. Just think a lot of people have not even seen these coins yet.

I think its going to be harder to find coins without errors. This has Minnesota quarters written all over it.

So far I have found about 60% to 40% on the edge lettering (upside down edges) in my 2 rollsi have checked. I have 2 more rolls to go. What has got my eye is many of my dollars have a proof and mirror like finish.

Philadelphia did a nice job on the ones I have:)

You guys ARE NOT going to believe this!! My dad went back today and got the rest of the Washington Dollars that they had. He got 9 rolls. Heres what I've found in only 5 of the rolls!

Roll 1- 8 no edge lettering coins
    Roll 2- 15
    Roll 3- 8
    Roll 4- 7
    Roll 5- 10

For a total (so far) of 48!!!!

At today's prices that's $31,000. The one on ebay is at $500.00 right now, not ended yet.

Sounds GREAT to me!! How do you think I should go about selling them? If I put them all up on Ebay at the same time, the price will drop I'm sure....What auction format should I use??

There's no such thing as upside down edge lettering, since there is no "correct" orientation. As published in the numismatic press, after the obverse/reverse are struck, the coins are randomly fed into a second machine which squeezes them to produce the edge lettering. Coins dumped into that machine will have random orientation resulting in lettering upright for both directions, and no regular pattern to where on the edge the elements will appear with relation to the GW/Statue of Liberty portraits.

No edge lettering results from the coin missing the second step, and I predict that there will be such a high percentage of Deadprez coins with that error that it will be soon be virtually worthless.

If you've got 'em, run - don't walk - to EBay and dump them while the dumping is good. Within a month the TV hucksters will be selling them for 2 x face, or less, in MS71!

Ok, Searched the rest of the rolls from that same bank and found 33 more, bringing todays total to 81, and added to yesterdays total, that's 95 coins!!

I would make up an auction for 1,3,5,7 days. Maybe sell 2 or 3 a day.

I see 9 of them listed now. Someone in Florida found some. I still don't think they are going to be very common.

    See!? They're being found mostly in FL.....Unless that's me you're looking at=p

All of the no edge lettering coins on ebay are from Florida. There may be 3 different sellers. If I owned some , I would sell a few now, to recoup investment, and wait a while till ebay clears out a bit.

I don’t think it is a state thing but a mint thing. I’m in Jersey about 15 miles from the philly mint, and I have about 45 already. Have to agree with Roy about them.
I would not want to sell them to people who do not know any better. Because I feel that they will be common and my conscience would bother me.

Well, I think that the buyers know that they are taking a risk, so I'm still going to sell....

Are you talking about the plain edge errors? There are a lot of 'upside down edge ' coins that are NOT errors.
Also, that first one listed is up to $595.00 now...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ordsPerPage=50&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&fvi=1
