When I go to this gas station and convenience store the two guys thar own/work at each one I always ask to check their take a penny/leave a penny. Over time I've explained what I look forand they told me in their country they dont have "grass" on there old money, well for about a year now when I go in when they find them they just hand them over, I always tell them if I make a fortune I'll be in with 1/2, they just say no, no, no, "gives me something to do". Im sure they check the 1920's, 30's etc. Dont blame them, I would.

Can I ask a silly ?...what does it mean when you write +1 ??? Does that mean basically I second that or that you are the second person that agrees? Just been curious. Thanks.

Yes... it means you're in agreement with the quoted individual, or at least does as I've come to understand it.

I have a friend who lost some of his collection because his son who thought money was money took it from his drawer where he kept some of his better coins and he spent them at McDonald's. That is why it is important to tell your kids that some things and areas of the house where you keep your collections are off limits.

I'm with you, last week I found a 1997 on the ground. I wasn't too shiny though. One day I'll upgrade it in my set. ;)

It's a 90 year old coin, and a 57 year old coin with luster still on it. It's special, no?

You'd be surprised what I put in circulation in hope that some young person finds it and sparks interest in the hobby. Unless it's a better date all wheats I get or find under ms63 gets spent, At Halloween common date buff's with readable dates, common Mercs, common dateless standing liberty quarters along with their candy for kids 12 and under

Good point. Mine is only nineteen years old and not so nice. What do you think an AU with some red would cost me?

So true, these kids that live near us growing up took alot of gol x coins and bought hotdogs, when the family asked for them back the people said, what coins; prove it (they were dirt bags, these people weren't rich)

I've been known to seed rolls returned to the bank. My hope is that is spurs someone else into collecting or that I make another collector happy. :D

You've bee looking at beat up ancients too long if you think that was brand new. OK from your viewpoint "made yesterday" but look it it's condition. Definitely not "brand new".

Not true, especially if you have been a collector for awhile. I guarantee you I probably have a lot more "good stuff" than about any non-collector out there. Also the collector isn't spending his "good stuff" or putting it in rolls. So the only place "good stuff" can come from in circulation is non-collectors.
