Let's not paint all Buyers with the same brush. I have over 2,000 transactions on eBay, both as a Seller and as a Buyer, with the majority as a Seller. If a Buyer wants their money back (less shipping, if I charged shipping) I email them to send the coin back and I will credit them their money back. This has helped me maintain a 100% rating and some of those Buyers who returned coins have become customers of mine, because of the decent way I handled the refund. Are there Buyers out there who try and scam me? Yes there are, but I consider my time worth more than the hassle of dealing with eBay and PayPal on refunds, so unless the coin was a high priced one, I just consider it a cost of doing business. I've also noticed that more and more Buyers are not using PayPal and are using debit or charge cards.

I just received a notice from PayPal that they are increasing their percentages on a variety of different transactions. I think the best thing eBay did was to sell PayPal and start to accept other forms of payment. I know I'm not considered a "big" Seller, but I do well, overall, on eBay.

I tried U.S. Auctions, but when I found out that they charge the Buyer a 19% Buyers Fee, that told me why bids on my coins were getting either low bids or not selling at all. Let's face it, eBay is the easiest and in the long run, less costly way to sell coins online. The proof of this is, even the big name Sellers are selling coins on eBay and increasing the numbers of coins they list on a constant upward curve. eBay's business plan was smart, don't charge the Buyer a premium, charge the Seller. It seems to be working for them.
