non married type or soon to be? Still love my coins, my 2 yellow labs and after 40 1/2 years I have "yes dear" ingrained! was thinking a nice tattoo, she said I'll kill you!
It'll be great. Less competition from the married folks. As for the dealers, I'm guessing the wives might be more tolerant of husbands trying to make money instead of spending it?
How about a coin show on Super Bowl Sunday? As it turned out, though, it was cancelled due to an incoming snow storm forecast to dump 7-10" on the site.
That coin show sounds like it's on the way to the grocery store.... where you're headed to pick up some Valentines dinner steaks ... that's how I'd play it anyways.
Here honey. As a token of my love here is a lovely 21 high relief Peace dollar in an MS-65 PCGS slab. I hope you love it. I’ll just keep it in the safe with my other coins….. Just for safekeeping of course…..
She won’t have any part of that. Coin shows are a fast and stern no. Rock and mineral shows are the same. At least she never complains about how much I spend or what I buy. When I go to my antique store if she comes with me she’ll help for a little bit but then she’s off shopping in the mall. I can’t recall her buying any antiques but it’s always on my mind.
What difference does it make? Everyone knows true hardcore coin geeks are completely ineligible to have romantic partners! But yeah… that’s a sure setup for family friction, ain’t it?
Went to two local Atlantic City coin shops while on honeymoon in AC 40 1/2 years ago, she's still here and so are the coins! But truth be told the slots and room service FAR EXCEEDED THE COINS!
I took Ladymarcovan out metal detecting once, when we were first dating. Now I realize she was probably bored stiff (not her thing). But she still married me and we’re still goin’ strong, a quarter of a century later, so it can’t have been all that bad, right? I do not remember what we found on that outing- if anything- but that site (the yards surrounding an old Victorian house) had produced some nice Barber dimes (one of them AU+) and other silver on my previous outings there. PS- I also took her out fossil hunting and found my first really big Megalodon shark tooth (5”+) when she was with me. I don’t think that was really her thing, either, but she did enjoy it more than the metal detecting.
