So many beautiful women so little time . I agree with Jim as most of these don't look like a Miss liberty , she should be good looking of course but look like the girl next door . Pam Dawber comes to mind . But I voted for Christie Brinkley .
Girl next door types? That opens up a whole new vista in the actress category. Laura Prepon? Kristen Johnston? Kaley Cuoco? But I've made my position clear already, and do agree wholeheartedly with the earlier comment in this thread that the model for a depiction of Lady Liberty really should not be readily recognizable as a specific real person.
Just as an afterthought, everyone seems to assume a profile as opposed to full body poses such as the Liberty seated, walking or standing coins. That being said, for those who are old enough to remember, Alberto Vargas' depictions of young women basically set the standard, for better or worse, for the American female form from about 1950 on. Talk about All-American and patriotic!!! Vargas girls were the basis for much of the airplane nose art during WWII (possibly the most famous was the B-17, Memphis Belle). Imagine a Liberty Seated coin with one of the Vargas girls.
The nose art from back in the day sure was a lot prettier than the ladies they've put on our coins so far. My favorite nose art-
No offense to nose art but some of it conveys more of a sense of submission to me rather than Liberty.
I think it would be great to include a woman's bosom in the next design. The drapped busts had them. They were round and soft-looking too.
Actually my number one vote would be Lana Turner long before my time but in my opinion the most beautiful woman of all time wish she had a lookalike granddaughter
Amen!! Why that's my favorite coin design of all time!! A case could be made for the walking liberty halves too she was well built as were the st gaudens $20 both favorite designs of mine too I guess I just like pretty ladies
And when I say let's make some more like these I'm not referring to making them just like them In china either
