Who makes the best Buffalo Nickel replica

I have a great fondness for the American Bison and would like to find a nice 1 oz and 5 oz silver replicas. I know there are tons of them out there, but judging by many pictures, many look too cartoony and lack detail. Especially the 5 oz versions.

Is there any particular producer that makes nice, detailed Buffalo Nickel replicas?

    Thanks.

Have you seen the 2001 American Bison set (Proof & Unc) from the Mint?

I have. They're beautiful, but out of my price range unfortunately. I only started collecting a few years ago. Missed out on that one.

Save you money and only buy a real US Mint one. They are the BEST ;)

If your collection budget is limited (like a lot of ours are) may I suggest you save your dollars for Real McCoys? I honestly doubt replicas have much resale value should you need to unload them sometime.

I tend to agree. Why waste money on replicas? Then again, if you just like the design, you could browse the eBay Exonumia category for possibilities. Or check the silver rounds. Or just buy a nice (but still affordable) Buffalo nickel in high grade. (That last is what I personally would do, but you do what suits YOU best.)

I don't have a problem with picking up a "replica" silver round. Just do an online search and find one you like. It's not the same as the "real thing" but if you're OK with that than go for it. Here is one I found on eBay...the design looks decent but they want about $10 over spot for it which seems awful high to me.

If it were me...and you wanted one in silver. I would save your money until you can pick up one of the 2001-P Silver Buffalos. They are a truly beautiful and are a wonderful tribute to the original design. Yes, you will have to pay $100+ for one...but they are fantastic pieces.

Daniel Carr (Moonlight Mint) has made an excellent copy for the centennial of the Buffalo nickel. There's one on ebay-item #291939550419-for $84. These are 1 oz silver rounds and the effigies are exact copies of the original design.

I have several, along with the Mercury 10c, Standing Liberty 25c, and Walking Liberty centennial silver rounds that were made this year. They, too are exact copies of the originals as far as the effigies are concerned.
