Well done, you guys, spotting this and getting it removed.

PS- just in case I went back and checked my '85-S dime to make sure it has a proper reverse. To my relief, it does... well, at least it is different than the bad coin, so I'm guessing it is good.

The coin(s) is genuine, but altered. Not a product from China

Not sure i understand. Tough said the reverse doesn't match the obverse. I would feel better if you could explain yourself. I know you know coins

The reverse is not that of a seated dime. It is a Barber Dime reverse.

There are many differences that you can use to tell one from the other. Perhaps the easiest to remember is that the veins of the leaves on the seated dimes stand in relief on the coin, while the veins on the Barber dime are recessed.

It is two separate coins being represented, isn’t it?

The "coin" offered on eBay was two halves of separate coins joined together to represent a rare date.

Damn. Wish it was the 50's again. This country has lost its moral compass. It blows my mind how some people have none. I stresed this moral compass thing with my children often. If at the store? If you pay with a 10 bill and cashier give you change for o 20. Do you tell them?? Moral compass. Never knownly take advange of the innocent
