Actually, copper must be going for $6 to break even.
It would have to be $12 a pound to be worth 2 cents each.
@ $3.00 a pound and 25% the spot price they are worth 1/2 cent each.

 

I had no idea this would last two pages! I just thought it was funny and some of us would drool at searching through this many coins.... prettier much take the rest of you life.

At your current search time, how long would it take to search all these coins?

 

So lets say I'm lucky enough to survive to 75 (heavy smoker for a long time and smoke free for a few years). That means I would have 37 years left to search. They estimate 400,000 cents per bag and 15 total bags. That's 6 million cents. Since I keep track of rolls I search lets convert that to rolls. 6 million cents divided by 50 cents per a roll is 120,000 rolls. With an estimate of 37 years left I would have to search an estimated 3,243 rolls per year. I am going to say no, unless I got divorced (which would occur if I tried to search that many rolls a year) and then I would have a shot at it but I would say

NO------- lol

 

That's less than 10 rolls a day. Easy peezy.

 

Not the way I search. I'm pretty meticulous.

 

I am assuming even if there's no zincs, these are almost all memorials.
And I guess there are a few varieties to look for. 1960 small date. 1969-S DD
1970-S small date, but generally 99.999% of these are going to be 1 cent. There's no reason to pay a premium for them, and they should be sold at a discount. 35-40K.
(Are all the Wide and Close AM's zincs only? I believe so.)

If you live anywhere close(within 10 hour drive of this location) rent yourself a tractor trailer and contact me via pm. You can pay me hourly to deliver it with your rented trailer and I will still save you money on the 4K delivery fee!
