I'm sure this is some drop ship thing, but found it amusing.

Can I get a price check for the ancients aisle...
Even sadder is this coin sold for $900 at Heritage. It is a scarcer ruler but I don't think it's worth what it even sold for at Heritage.

Next time you order chips or a tv, throw in a Tetradrachm too!

I would not buy anything at Walmarto_O I went there once looking for a deal on lawn herbicides (2-4-D) stuff was way overpriced and diluted. Never went back again.

Wal-Mart for coins? Now that is crazy. Won't be shopping for coins there anytime soon.

I'm a Smelly Walmart shopper, just not for coins!

As a kid years ago, I remember Woolworth's or JC Penny use to have a small coin section of coins in glass cabinets in the back of the stores.

I remember Woolworths, W.T. Grant & Ben Franklin stores doing this for awhile. It was an add on for selling collecting supplies to get you started.

If delivery is not available and pickup is not available, how exactly does one obtain the coin?

From the listing (the screen shot in the OP cut off this part or perhaps not visible on the mobile app screen): sold and shipped by APMEX. APMEX has been testing the waters with ancient coins.

I'm in a few other groups where I have seen people fall for the Walmart coins. Most are horrible replicas, think most recent was a gentleman who's son bought him a silver eagle. Rev was wrong with the mint mark off kilter. Just some bad stuff all around.

Walmart wants to be an online marketplace in competition with Amazon and eBay. I don't see anybody toppling Amazon any time soon, but Walmart would stand a better chance than anybody. I don't see how eBay gets out of this alive.

Meanwhile, though, it is odd to see APMEX stuff on walmart.com.

I haven't been to a Wal-Mart in 2 years and buying a coin from them is the last place I'd be looking.

The fact we are discussing this is boosting the word-of-mouth awareness, search words, and free advertising associating Walmart with coins as well as Ancients.

I like Walmart when I head down south with the RV.......most let you park overnight (outer limits) and it's a good place to re-supply. :)

yup, and they are treating them like modern commodities where each slab grade is seen as the same quality and fit into a rigid price structure as such. Only if they knew....
