Well it occurred to me that most silver is .925 and not .750 although there is some. But the thing is - everyone assumed the earrings were low grade silver and didn't bother to check! I also know that .750 is also a gold hallmark for 18k. <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie1" alt=":)" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p>So I popped my diamond tester onto a couple of the diamonds and it came back positive. I do know they rarely put diamonds into silver - and so I confirmed that this was almost positively "white gold" and not silver.</p><p><br /></p><p>I got the lot home, tested the metal of the earrings and the diamonds, and I was right.
