When it comes to an icon such as the 1856 FEC, a buyer should be aware of a few basic "must haves".

    1. Certification. There are SO many of these coins in the market that are plain fakes. Some are easy to spot (for the trained eye), others are more tricky. Without the word "COPY" on the coin, the untrained eye can easily be fooled. Where the buyer would be spending a potential high amount of money on such an example, he or she should truly make sure it's been certified as genuine before purchasing.

    2. Expect to pay. With the rarity of this coin, the market of supply and demand on this coin is going to keep its prices quite high. I know you asked where one could be found "for a great price".... Though I'm sure there are deals to be found somewhere (in a case where someone doesn't know what they have), typically, when you find a genuine coin like this, it's going to be properly priced based on current market value. In this case, it's gonna be a bit of money.

    3. Do you want eye appeal, or nuismatic appeal? Some people collect coins based highly on their quality. In a situation like this, someone might be searching for a coin that is MS. There are others in the community that are more about "just having one" regardless of quality. What is your client looking for?
