Anyone going to the Baltimore coin show this year, it's in about a month. I'm thinking about driving down for Friday. Looks like a great show, never been to a Whitman one either. Whitman Coin & Collectibles Expo, LLC
Lol you might have to sneak out. From the floor plan it looks like it's going to be almost twice as big as CoinFest . I'm only going for one day, so hopefully traffic wont be too bad.
It's not that bad, going by google maps, it's around 3 hours, most of it on I-95, and traffics usually not that bad on there.
I'll definitely be there (barring illness). I'm lucky. I live only about 30-40 miles away (about a 45 minute drive). MFD already has a coin waiting for me and he is looking for more. I always go on Friday and aim to be there by opening time, 10AM. The Baltimore Whitman shows are the biggest I go to. 500-1000 dealers. Three Whitmans a year in Baltimore. Very popular location. I went up to the Philly show last month. Big, but only about half the size of a Baltimore show. And from what I read it was marginal for the dealers. I went to one of the monster ANA shows a couple years ago. Certainly big BUT too top-end. Mostly the very best material and I'm a cut or two below that, so I wasn't particularly happy. The Whitman shows are perfect for me.
MFD just called and said he got a second coin on my wantlist. That's two to pick up at the Baltimore show. It would be really nice if my NGC submissions would get to me before the show. Then I'd know whether I have any replacements/upgrades to do. But when I called they said the Economy coins are currently taking about 39 days (rather than the 21 as advertised). Since I submitted them at the Philly show (late Sept) it's not looking good. Oh well, there are other coins to buy.
