Has anyone successfully flipped any DC's? Even if it took some time until they were sold out?

I think you'd get better response in the coin forum rather than bullion. There is a market for them, but they are "tokens" and not true currency.

They are all a good bet for future gains as almost all DC overstrikes can't be purchased for below issue price on the aftermarket. How big the premium for a certain coin, date, finish or die pair won't be known until well after they are sold out though. I suggest buying what you like and an extra or two to flip later. Let your gut be your guide ;)

They could even be considered exonumia. There are no updated published price guides for these things. They are listed in Krause Publications "Unusual World Coins" cataloged under fantasy U.S. coins. So are NORFED dollars. Very little in investment growth that I can tell. My catalog is the 5th edition.

I don't consider numismatic coins as an investment. So I would be hard pressed to find how Carr's work, as clever as it is to me, is an investment.

Investment eh, but like mentioned almost all of the overstrikes sell for a premium over issue price. You can find someone dumping some on ebay every now and then but for the most part you'll have to pay up a bit if you missed the ordering window

I'm with Frank, none of them. Instead of buying over priced silver I'd buy silver at spot plus dealer markup. At the price of Carr ounce I could buy a lot more anything ounce and wait for the price to go up. :)

If you need to flip money fast and furious, best bet is Made in China overstrikes.

The movement in price will come when the govt makes their move on him, hopefully soon :angelic:
