My top 3 would be Mississippi, Vermont, or Oklahoma. I think Mississippi is the best.

I like the Connecticut quarter. The tree just seems a simple, yet dramatic. Oregon is nice also. I think most state quarter disigns are just too busy. They try to cram too many concepts in the field.

Connecticut. Looks like the Tree of Life lol. Can't imagine how nice an album toned one will look in 50 years. Speaking of.... I think I'll go buy a few and see.

I love the Oregon design. I know, it's my home state so I'm probably being bias...but I love the Crater Lake design.

I voted for Connecticut. The Charter Oak has depth in design and has a special feel when you receive one in change. The branches of this former majestic tree give the appearance and feel of high relief.

    I like Oklahoma's design.

I find most of them to have some nice elements but in the end they are all way too busy.

It's interesting that so far, it appears the Connecticut is the leading vote getter.
Do you think that the fact it reminds some of us (well me at least) of the classic connecticut commemorative helped it? I remember thinking of this classic coin the first time I got a Connecticut state quarter in change.

Of the ones in the poll I like Arizona and Nevada.
For a write in I'll put in Wisconsin. There's nothing that artistic about it, it just reminds me of somthing very dear to me.........food.
A big juicy burger with a thick slab of extra sharp swiss and corn on the cob.

I know I sound like a copycat, but my faves are Oregon first and Connecticut second -- Oregon because Crater Lake is such a beautiful place and Connecticut because the design is both simple and classy at the same time.

Interesting how the voting turned out. I assigned every first place vote a 5, second place vote a 4, etc and then tallied. From that we got a clear winner (Connecticut), a clear 2nd place (Oregon) --- then hard to separate.

Here is the top 20 by a small sample of voting ...(sorry if I screwed up the tally, I was doing this "back of the envelope" so I did my best with it)

What a load of dog dung........like the Civil War never happened. Remove the offending symbols. Those symbols are a part of history. I hate political correctness and will stop my diatribe before wading too deep into the muck and mire of things ......

Removing such symbols is tantamount to saying, "it never happened".......

There are many ways of keeping historic events in people's minds without proudly displaying symbols that many find offensive. As for "political correctness", that term is only used by people who hate the idea anyway. ;) Now the SQ alternative I don't find that thrilling, but why not ...
