Top one by far sir. That is a heck of an attractive VG in my opinion.

I agree that the top one looks much nicer. The bottom one has more edge bumps and dings in the fields, and the adjustment marks do reduce the eye appeal (even though they shouldn’t affect the grade).

Top one IMO. The bottom one has done abrasion onbyhr top that is distracting.

Top one. Despite the damage on the bottom one, I still do really like its color. However, I think for VG10 the top is better.

I too vote for the top, but either is a welcome addition it any U.S. collection.

Thank you for your opinions. Seems pretty definite (which makes me happy:)).

I edited my original post to add a link to the Ebay auction for the second example.
(Sorry for the extra work with the clicks).

Top one in my opinion. Way too many adjustment marks on the bottom one.

I also believe the top coin is more of a "choice" example; lack of adj marks, minor hits, even tone.

I'd be happy with either one. But I, too, prefer the top one.

I like the top one too because of fewer of the minor dings in the fields and consistent color. I must give a slight advantage in reverse detail to bottom one though.

I'd like the top Obverse and the bottom Reverse if I can place a special order.

I would go with the first one. It has far fewer surface issues.
