Right, I have been saying for months I'd get my first gold coin with my first ever paycheque from my first ever job. Well I recived my first paycheque the other week, and I probably would have gotten me half an ounce. I next get paid in mid december; and It'll be much more, so it will be my christmas present aswell. I have gotten many an idea from this site of coins to buy...but as the coin will cost so much, and be prob my only gold coin for some time to come, I wan't it to be perfect. My Budget = £400/$760, I certainly don't intend to hit the very top of my budget aswell. Things I take into account...Looks, and History and value for money. Some I have singled out... 1987 Proof Double Gold Sovereign (15.98g)(£195, $370) 1987 Gold Eagle (1oz)(£385, $730) 1899 Double Eagle (0.97oz) (£390, $740) 1995 Gold Proof £2 Dove of Peace (15.98g) (£195, $370) 1996 Euro 1996 Football Gold Proof £2 (15.98g) (£229, $434) The 1987s picked on their date and looks, the double eagle on its history, and the £2 coins on their value for money and looks. Cost aside, which one would you pick out of my list? Any ideas? And maybe places to buy for the UK Buyer, I found all the coins listed above on the same website that I have bought from many times before, and with the £2 coins he seems to have them $190 cheaper than anywhere else.
