    Hey everyone!

Just curious which die pair this 1859/59 Large Cent would be? I'm thinking it's the #4...

Here's a closeup of the date:

    And the entire coin:

Ha ha...Well, that's the exact photo I was looking at on the CoinsandCanada website, mainly because my Charlton is at the bottom of a stack of storage totes...

Would you agree with me that it's #4 @Rick Stachowski ?

    Agreed.

As to the coin above - what would you say it would grade, VF Details?

If it wasn't for the scratch on the queens head, I'd say maybe au ( 52 or higher ) myself

Well, every time I think I've graded a Canadian coin correctly according to the reference materials I have available to me, my next step is that I usually drop it two grades and that's what a Canadian would grade it. ;)

I don't think this one is an AU Details, though (details due to the cleaning, plus a scratch)...

Yes, it's a #4. I'd agree with the AU details, but the scratch and possible environmental damage would lower the overall grade.

I'm always looking here, but very few inquiries on Vicky large cents. Those are the ones that I will post about ... to help others.

@Bill in Burl - I just bought a really nice book of large cents - when I get them photographed, I'll tag you in the post so you can check them out. This coin was in there (the rest aren't cleaned, and there is a really nice 1858 in there that made the book worth buying.)

ANY book with an 1858 is worth buying (at a "reasonable" price of course) And if you don't mind would you tag me also in your post? I would appreciate it.
