A few conditional rairities yes, numimatic rarities no. Since I don't play "the high grade" game what you are saying is technically correct. I do not know about your part of the country but outside of a few varieties in those series I mentioned you cannot count any of those series in the same breath as the older ones around here and the whole reason is and always will be high mintage. There is simply nothing in those series that is rare. There are a half a dozen, or more coins in those older series that are truly rare and hard to get. I do not know of a single coin (outside of varieties) in the Washinton's that is rare. Go to any show you will find dozens of 32-D & S in every dealers case in every conditon you could ever want - the same goes for any Ike, and Sac, any Kennedy and I'll spare us all the others.
That plus conditonal rarity is fragle to say the least - it changes all the time for a multitude of reasons none of which as anything to do with the true numismatic value of a key date coin. A conditional rarity can go down the tubes when just one person sends his boxes of Washinton's to be graded - you cannot say that for a 22 No"D" or 14-D because there are no boxes of those coins to be sent in.

Based on the growth in China's and India's middle class and the speculative continued growth of these countries' economies - I suspect coin collectors in these countries will increase accordingly. They'll more than likely concentrate on coinage from their own countries which should produce a significant increase in demand on collectable coinage from these countries.
