    Nice Mexican notes. Thanks for sharing.
    I didn't realise Frida Kahlo had been featured on a banknote. (Her husband Diego Rivera is featured on the obverse)

    That's right, on the back of the 500 MXN is the painter Diego Rivera, I scanned them today.

    That 500 MXN banknote has been in circulation for a long time now, however it is less and less common to see them because here in Mexico they are releasing new banknotes designs all the time [every 4 or 5 years or something like that] and even special editions, so these ones that I have [which are not so mistreated] I'm going to save them :joyful::D

    I’m pretty sure there’s more women than men on banknotes, as a whole, if you include the allegorical figures

    She WAS the monarch at the time, so makes sense, no?

    The date of the banknote is 1910.

    Catherine the Great died Nov. 17, 1796

    Yea, you’re right, my bad.
    I guess it’s Sort of like how we still have G Wash on our bills in 2022 despite the dude dying back in like 1790-whatever
