20th Century type set coins. I'm also looking out for good deals on silver coins under spot, and I'll occasionally get a Royal Canadian Mint coin if it catches my eye.
Everything business strike and circulated (but UNC if it's really really cheap) Indian Head and Lincoln Cents Jeff Nickels Roosie and Merc Dimes Wash Quarters Walking Liberty, Franklin, and JFK Halves Sac and Pres Dollars (I'll get around to SBA and Ikes) I have a bunch of Morgans and Peace dollars, and I put them in albums, but I can't say I really collect them (I'm just saving them) I'm thinking of, maybe, upgrading my Jeff nickel set to Unc, since it seems affordable to do so . . . And I'm thinking of starting a 20th Cent Type set . . .
Well, I'm a metal detectorist, when your a 'detectorist' you have certain goals to archive. For most its getting the shallow mercury dime, or just enjoying the great outdoors while getting some very much needed excerise. But for me my goal is too find as many Wheat cents a possible and collect, value, and pass down through generations.
I like all US coins. I'm working on Standing Liberty Quarters, Indians Head cents, Buffalo Nickles. Complete sets: Lincolns (except DD), Jefferson, Walking Liberty, Washington QT, Mercury (except over dates, Up grading this set.) and Roosevelt dimes. -O)
Wheat cents pre-1973 lincoln memorials Bufallo Nickels Jeferson nickels 1938-1964 Seated liberty dimes Mercury Dimes Rosie Dimes FB dimes silver washington quarters 1976 bicentenial quarter new york state quarter Walker Commemorative halfs Franklin halfs (Full bell lines) Silver kennedy halves Morgan dollars Ike dollars SBA dollars
My affliction <dry humor> is original surface double eagles, both Libs and Saints. A very costly hobby nowadays.
Liberia Coins, Qatar + Dubai Coins, Westward Journey Proofs, State Proofs, Territory Proofs, Silver Eagles
Get on those Frankies sooner than later. Prices are really collector friendly now. The bottom has been falling out on them as of late (even the top-pops have been hit...not as hard as the lower grades, but the series as a whole is becomming Rodney Dangerfield-like).
Filling up the Dansco P,D with Proofs and Silver Proofs If applicable. Most keys are in plastic. Indian head cents wheeties Lincoln memorial cents (close, I am missing some keys and some commons) Winged liberty Dimes (completed) This was my first set I started with. Rosie Dimes (completed) Silver washington quarters (close to finished) Clad Washington quarters (Close to completed) State Quarters P,D,S and Silver (completed) Kennedy halves (Close to finished) Sac Dollars (Up to Date) Commemorative coins representing Civil War (War of Northern Aggression) or Revolutionary War As you can see its mostly modern stuff. For all after 1995 Ive gotten everything from uncirc. sets, proof and silver proof sets. I really have started enjoying the Kennedy halves, I'm working to close this one out. I would like get more into the cents but in not so good with copper and have made a few costly mistakes with them. So for now they are on hold. I have a the danscos for the nickels buffalo and Jefferson, but not actively working on them. For the near future, I will start Franklin Halves Eisenhower dollars Peace and Morgans (I have about 10 Morgans already) I really would like to start an Carson City type set Maybe getting my Mercs more uniform in VF or better for most. Of course I will start the America the beautiful series. I would love to get the large 5oz silver size also, I wish they had done that with the states.
