Lets face it, most Presidents do nothing major in office. So if a president is to be honored it would be a President who one either done something in a major way or two a President who had something major thrown in his lap, like Wilson or Bush. When one is speaking of Regan, like him or not, he did something major which was help end the cold war. So most likely, Regan will grace some coin some day. As for Wilson, I don't know if people even care about World War I any more. As for Bush, the war we are involved in now will not be won for a couple of generations and it was being fought before our time and was only halted, really contained, by the cold war and the super powers power plays using proxy governments. It is really amazing how everyone seems to have forgotten the moors invading Europe or the Ottoman Empire out of Turkey once being the World's largest Empire up to WWI and controling Southern Europe as well. Just ask a Greek friend about what happened there or visit the Balkens. The only way all the presidents would be honored is if the politicians want to honor politicians and not statesmen or men who rose to the occasion and that would be a shame. I for one honor statesmen and those who rose to the occasion, like Truman, no matter which political party they came from.

I like this idea...if we can name USS ships after major battles, then it may be a good idea.

Except, you may bring politics into the discussion again if they were to have a Battle of Gettysburg or Vicksburg coin. Keep in mind that the city of Vicksburg, MS didn't even celebtrate the 4th of July holiday until after WWII because that is the date they surrendered back in 1863.

A lot of people are STILL fighting this war down in the south!

Not exactly "fighting", but more like, living with the consequences of defeat.

The south truly lost the civil war after Regan left office. He was the last major statesman/politician who believed in states rights and a smaller central government, not to be confused with a strong military and self defense programs. Now both major political parties favor a strong central government with their hand extending into everything which of course limits local government, which of course limits direct democracy e.g.from the school boards to the states regents. Now about coins, how about Patrick Henry being on a coin. It seems that to many people have forgotten that liberty was won with blood and kept with blood for that blood shed perserved the heart beat of America.

I am all for a "Taxation without Representation" coin. If our foundng fathers saw how much we spend on program after program, they would be spinning in their graves!

I didn't say anything resembling such an implication.
