I wouldn't even think of bidding on that. It also amazes me that so many people selling expensive coin provide such lousy images even with graded coins.
Remember that lousy photos are a common way to hide problems, often the biggest problem of all, it’s a counterfeit. My rule is, if the photo is lousy, don’t even think about buying or bidding on the item. If people could adopt this attitude, they would probably come out ahead at least 95% of the time. Now that “The Plague” has killed almost all of the shows, this rule of thumb is more important than ever.
That seller has been on eBay for years and the photos(scans) always look exactly the same. I have never bought anything from them because of the poor quality images and concerns that various defects/manipulations could be hidden. I am sure they do quite well with bargain hunters as does GSC.
