Okay, I figured out how to get my NGC registry banner. Here 'tis: And while there I looked at what the 3 sets are: 1792-1964 Type Set / Rank 18 / 79% complete 1834-1933 Gold Type Set / Rank 29 / 95% complete 1942-1945 Jefferson War Nickels / Rank 19 / 100% complete As soon as my coin arrives from Teletrade I'll enter a second Jefferson War Nickel set (if you're allowed to do that). The current one is all MS coins with Full Steps except no FS on the 43/2. The second one will be all MS-67, no FS and no 43/2. I can also enter my silver Roosevelts, both business strikes (MS-66) and proofs (MS-67). Some of my other sets have other TPG-graded coins (ANACS, ICG, and a couple SEGS and PCI slabs). I'll need to make a decision about doing a crossover. Most of my Lincolns are raw as are my Morgans so they are a "no go".
I don't know, how high up can the numbers in the ranking go (879,000th?) for someone who doesn't have any slabbed coins?
I'm a little surprised, for someone who knows so much about slab history and you don't have any? Do you just crack coins out for albums?
OK I just figured out how to get the banner as well, that's pretty cool. I only have 8 of my 22 coins in the registry, I'll have to add the rest and see what that does to my ranking. Not that I really care, just curious. Sorry, I deleted all my images, I will updated them later today with new ones. Unfortuantely they are all about 10-15K over the size limit right now.
No, I won't buy slabbed coins, not even to crack out. When I'm looking for coins for my collection I won't even look at slabbed stuff. The only slabs I own are those pieces in my slab reference collection, and for those I don't care what the coin is.
What do you collect? It would seem silly to ignore coins in slabs just because they are in slabs unless what you collect is so plentiful RAW that you can find nice examples to fill those holes.
I just upped my ranking to 771. I added my second set of Jefferson War Nickels. Not a biggie. Now I'm contemplating converting my ANACS, SEGS and PCI slabs to NGC so I can add other sets too. Sticker shock may squelch that idea. What I WON'T do is slab sets that are predominately raw. For example, except for the keys/semi-keys my Lincoln set is raw. Same with my Washington quarters. Etc.
Hello ? this is chasindreams,,,,nice to hear your on the NGC Registry , so am I ? come visit my list ,,,, I have wallpaper added with text ,just to spruce it up abit,,, I'm in the 1938 Jefferson to date List ,,,I'm under the Title: JGB's Jefferson Collection, Rank 14th,,,,send me a email, ? take/care,,,let me know where your lists at ,ok? chasindreams:high5:
Chasindreams, Many of the collectoins mentioned so far have links to them in the posts. You can check them out from those. Here is a direct link to your registry, interesting use of backgrounds behind the slab. Thanks for sharing. http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=85966
I guess I need to check who is in last place, and add 1 to his/her number. When I (rarely) buy a slabbed coin, or (verrrrrrry rarely) have one slabbed for authentication, out it comes.
Finally got my last War nickel in. One coin yet to be entered but I can't believe it will make any difference. No other changes expected until I get some coins crossed over to NGC slabs. That's probably two months from now at best.
I'm assuming that the coins that need crossing are not PCGS since those can be entered into the registry without crossing?
Maybe I should play the game....Still have not decided. I think I have a login, but will have to check.
I am at 498 but like "Breakdown" no photos have been submitted. Not because I haven't got around to it but I haven't mastered the technique yet. I'll work on it.
I was going to attach images to my Registry Set coins but ran into a problem. You can't(?) download images to NGC and let them be the host. You have to host them yourself. Sorry NGC, I don't have that amount of space available.
