Hi everyone, A good number of my coins come from Vcoins these days or from dealers that have alternative sites. I also keep an eye on eBay and get some from trusted dealers on there. I don't get to visit my local coin shop very often, but they do have a few ancients there, I bought one last year. If I ever get the money, I'd like to try an auction house someday. Erin
I agree with Ancientnoob, If I didnt sell coins and look to buy in bulk , I wouldnt have a coin collection. My retirement fund is sat in coins at the moment. I know some of you will say that it cant be, but I have bought wisely over the past few years and the bulk I have is worth perhaps 10-20 times what I have paid. If my wife knew what I have spent on coins she would cut my nuts off.
LOL, after the last couple weeks for me: YUP!!! Nice day at Charlotte Show, going back tomorrow! Love/Hate relationship with the dollar... Love the coins I buy/hate seeing the money go...
My wife is way too bright and she knows that I merely have another fricken addiction!! ... gawd she's smart!! (she keeps me honest and I love her!!)
My first purchases from CNG are on their way. Also expecting a couple from JA. I have bought on eBay but recently found a coin on there for $420 OBO and then found the same coin from the same dealer on Vcoins for $320. Makes me more wary of eBay than I was before.
This is quite common. I also have coins on eBay that are marked up to cover the selling fees. I don't advertise them much because I really don't want people to buy them there. Private arrangements are always cheaper for the buyer, especially if you can bypass paypal fees as well. Still, a hundred dollar mark-up is unarguably excessive.
