I believe that a few of the members have to scroll the screen side to side to read the posts. Personally, I have never had the problem. I'm wondering if its a setting on their computer that needs to be changed. Kind of like how you can change your screen format on alot of televisions.

I don't know what the HTML has to have a set width, which is the problem. If you want to set something to the right side, however, you MUST define a minimal width.

maybe turn off css suport in your bowser.

You can still download mosiac as well

    ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Mosaic/

here the browser that started it all...no table support or CSS as I recall.

Tried everything. Not long ago someone tried to instruct me here on what to do to change a page size thing. I ended up taking my computer in for repairs. I did what they said and my computer started to say "Place disc #2 for Windows back in" Nothing worked after that. The place where I took my computer in has a few coin collectors and they all said they stopped using this web site due to the same thing. In my upper tray for icons there is a VIEW thing and if I clicked on that there is a text size item. It is on the lowest size and still have to scroll.
No other web site is like that.
As a person of some age I get annoyed easily so moving on to other web sites appears easier.

Carl as we have tried to explain many times it your screen resolution size that you need to change. If you keep it at anything less than 1024 x768 you will have to scroll.

Can someone explain again how to change that?

right click on your desktop and click on properties. Go to the settings tab and slide the bar until it reads 1024 x 768. Click on apply and it will preview your screen at this resolution. You can then decide if that will work for you or not.

If everything it offers is a lesser resolution, then your video card doesn't support resolutions of that size, and you have to replace it before you will be able to make that change.

That is hilarious. I'd love to post this to some of my Linux mailing lists,

    Try GNU/Linux....really....

SuSE is from Novell and you'll never have problems like that again.

Carl, if computers annoy you you should get this. It is bullet proof and ideal for older users with huge fonts and big icons

Make sure you get the Linux version. I gave them to many older people and they are just amazed at how they JUST WORK. No Problems.

I have never had to scroll leftwise or rightwise when on this forum... and I have a tiny monitor by today's standards.

But talk about phases; I seem to go in vast cycles with buying coins. I'll buy a bunch, then stop for a long time until withdrawal sets in. Then I'm right back into it like a caffeine addict... up down up down... I feel myself moving towards a down phase again...

Obviously it doesn't affect you. There have been numerous comments/threads about it.

Thanks. That worked. It looks a little different. I'll have to get used to reading smaller letters. But thats ok. I have good eyes so it beats all that scrolling.

Speaking as as newer member, and this is not a criticism. I am here to learn. I try to visit everyday. I try to read every post on each area except paper money. The only paper money I collect is the kind I spend for coins. Sometimes I feel that the topic either does not apply to my area of interest or that I am not qualified to post a response. I have made a few post and replied to others and either got few comments or none. This makes me feel that I am ill equipt to be in this forum. I understand that this is a perception and does not repesent fact, but on the otherhand I could easily feel like my views are not important of not at the level of the experts on this forum. Over time I could lose interest. When I have a work associate who is struggling, I look for any and every opportunity to pat him/her on the back and make them feel needed and part of the team. On some topics presented, members are showing coins which are out of reach fo a lot of people. Kind of like the car magazines which feature articles on $100,000+ cars. Fun to read about, but most will never expierence the ownership. I think we should make everyone feel welcome and when a newer member make a post, no matter how mudane or minor, some of the "Top Guns" should jump in and make a positive comment to encourage the newbies to stay and learn. I notice that a lot of members with high post numbers responded to this post and this is a good sign. I think this is an excellent forum and would hate to see it die. I have learned a lot by keeping 2 ears open and 1 mouth shut.

Actually, I would think that the less response you get to a post the more likely it is that people are agreeing with you. I do relate to your last point there, though, I too learn a lot more from reading than from posting! :)
