odd, when those were first released I saw TONS of them.

now I only found 1 in change recently (the one with the boat).
and I still see the bison nickels too.

but I noticed a fairly sharp decrease in them

I know of a dealer that currently buys 1955-1981 Canadian nickels (pure nickel) for $0.10 each and sells them at $0.16 each. I'm not sure who is buying them, as I find about 20% of the nickels in circulation are within that range. I guess it's time to dump some of those old rolls of nickels I've been hoarding. Too bad I don't have something like $500 in nickels right now. :(

I have not found any 2006 or 2007 nickels in circulation yet, and I go through all my change.

    as i say

as i say it again and again. these 2006 and 2007 new and uncirculated coins were being withheld by institutions and businesses. bankers and investors as well as collectors. there were 2 to 3 billions 2006 and 2007 nickels and it is very hard to find one.

I had a thought on these Westward Journey nickels also. While the designs look great, it doesn't appear that the relief is very deep on them. I was just wondering that of the nickels that do find their way into circulation, how long before their designs are rubbed away?

Yeah, I figured something like that. It took forever for me to find the 2004 and 2005 nickels in my change, but now I get them all the time.

In Kansas, they're all over the place. However, I didn't find any 2007's until just a few weeks ago. Believe me, I've been looking.

I see more 2004-2007 nickels in circulation than I do pre- 2004 here in California. Maybe people here aren't hoarding them or something, but they're all over the place.

WOW, im amazed by how many people have not found them yet. I have at least 60 of them. I find many every week, its just that you have to search everywhere. Also look in all of your change. Also I have all the state quarters that have came out so far , and all found in circulation ,also including idaho, washington, and montana.

You haven't noticed the dollar tanking lately, thats do to a "loss of confidence in the dollar" and it's just beginning!
