    Hi everyone :)

Been looking for the last few days to try to answer this question, and as of yet cannot seem to find the answer.

Along with the above, are there rough years for when * and + "subgrades" were added?

Thing is i have an older NGC holder and think the coin fully deserves a cameo but does not have one. The holder is type "NGC 4" not really 100% sure what years that covers either.

    Thanks in advance,

    Richard

Plus grades started in early 2010 for PCGS and like mid 2010 for NGC

The timeframe for NGC 4 would not have included stars or plus grades. As for Cameo, you can see from Conder’s picture that they gave it on NGC 5, but I’m not certain if it was around before that generation.

    You’re welcome!

Under NGC 5 is a picture of an Ike that has the Cameo designation noted on the holder (which suggests NGC was noting Cameo at least during generation 5).

To the best of my knowledge the TPGs have always used the cameo designation when appropriate - since they opened their doors for business. The terms cameo and deep cameo have been around longer than the TPGs have.

I don't believe they have always used cameo, but it did enter use very early on.
