All coins have gone up in price recently, but especially this type, it seems. I’m glad I got mine when I did.
A beautiful coin! Yes, prices for this type of shekel, while always quite high, generally, seem to be shooting up over the past few years. Here's my example, purchased back in the 90s from CNG. Phoenicia, Tyre AR shekel Year 138 (12-13 AD) 14.32 grams Bronze coins from this period, especially those of the First Revolt have also had healthy price gains.
Great example @Antonius Britannia! The year 60's shekels have some of the most distinctive eagles. Sadly, I passed one up a while back and I continue to kick myself over it. Here's my favorite half shekel, Year 1. And my finest style full shekel, Year 4.
